Thursday Night, June 19, 7 - 11 pm

Picture a room full of homebrew and its brewers, with clubs putting their best on display, and you get to drink it all in. This year the clubs will really be trying to outdo each other, as there will be various prizes awarded, including:

  • Le Pissoir d'Or: Sponsored by the Chicago Beer Society, this coveted trophy will go to the club that brings the most beer to the conference. Kegs stashed in the reefer truck will be tallied as they are stored. Details of how to tally the rest of your beer will be posted near the registration booth at the conference. The winner of the beautiful Pissoir d'Or was the Iowa Brewers Union.
  • Big Al's Memorial Trophy: Sponsored by the Urban Knaves of Grain, this is a prize for the best overall Club Night presentation (beer, food and other - like costumes, etc), as voted by attendees. Try to personalize your space as much as possible. Club members dressing up in a certain fashion is also an idea. Votes will be tallied, and the winner will be announced at the Friday night banquet. To keep up a great Chicago tradition, "vote early and often!" Bribery is also recommended. The winner (with an amazing 574 votes out of an amazing 1000 cast - hmm, almost 2 ballots for each person in attendance) was the Minnesota Homebrewers Association.

This is the chance for your club to really show off. Many clubs are planning booths to provide the "total experience" while others are simply concentrating on the best beer and will pitch-in dishes they can muster. Either way, it's a lot of fun, and a great way to get to know each other better, which is what really drives this hobby forward.

Sign your club up and we'll give you a space and a table or two to put on your show. You provide beer, of course, and most clubs bring food--snacks, cheese, sausage, chili, whatever-- and treat it as a big potluck.
